WEDDING INFORMATION
Fijian weddings are internationally recognized and legally binding. We take great care in creating a memorable day for each couple and have a policy of just one wedding each day to ensure this. Our wedding packages are designed to suit Couples after everything from an elopement for two to a gala group event. Each package can easily be tailored with a few additional extras to further ensure all your requirements are met. Our onsite Wedding Coordinator assists each Couple with every detail of their wedding from booking until departure.
Planning your stay:
We recommend Couples spend at least five nights at the resort, with the wedding 3 days after the Couple's arrival on the resort. This allows the Couple to rest and relax before the wedding and also complies with Fijian Law. We arrange weddings every day of the week except Sundays and wedding dates are confirmed subject to availability.
Registration:
While in Nadi it is a requirement that Couples go to the local registry office to obtain their wedding license prior to arriving at the Resort. The District Office is open weekdays from 9:00am-4:00 pm (excluding Public Holidays). A Wedding in Fiji can not take place until 3 days after the marriage license has been obtained.
Requirements for a wedding license include ALL of the following:
1. Original or certified copy of birth certificates; passports, Decree Absolute documents if divorced; Death Certificate if previous spouse has died; Deed Pole Documents if either party has changed their name; consent of the father if under the age of 21 years for both parties or mother if father is deceased.
2. Confirmatory letter on current marital status (“single status certificate” if clients are from Australia, equivalent document for all other countries) to be obtained from the marriage Registry where the applicant resides or statutory declaration signed by a Justice of Peace or Notary Public or Solicitor to prove that
he/she is currently single. Valid marriage ages in Fiji are 16 years and above for female and 18 years and above for male.
Note: As required by the District Office, applications from Asian nationals such as China, Philippines, Pakistan, Korea, and India must apply one (1) month in advance for their marriage license.

Wedding Service Locations:
A Methodist Minister from our local village will conduct the wedding. If a celebrant is not specifically requested, the Methodist Minister will officiate the wedding. Tokoriki Island Resort offers a variety of locations for wedding ceremonies to ensure a tailor made wedding every time.
One of the most popular venues is Tokoriki’s famous Coconut Tree, an ideal location for Brides wishing to have the sand between their toes on their special day. We set up the area with a floral Bridal Arch specially created by our staff featuring fresh flowers from the Resort’s gardens and orchid nursery. (Ideal for parties of up to 40 people)
The deck area surrounding our horizon edge pool is also available for weddings and is a picturesque spot for sunset cocktails prior to the wedding reception. (Ideal for parties of up to 40 people)
Tokoriki Island Resort’s Fijian style Chapel complete with high ceilings and traditional stained glass window feature is perfect for the wedding party requiring a more traditional location with a Fijian setting.
(Ideal for parties of up to 70 people)
Of course, you can also be married on the deck of your own room. (Ideal for parties of up to 7 people)
